Meet your instructor: Bill Polasky

Bill Polasky has been teaching history for 19 years, and is currently teaching at Stillman Valley High School - about 60 miles west of the Chicago area - where he is the Division Chair and Lead Teacher for Social Sciences, and previously established the AP* History program at Stillman Valley. Additionally, Bill is an Adjunct Faculty member at Rock Valley Community College, where he has taught United States History survey for the past eight years.

Bill has two B.A. degrees and two M.A degrees from Northern Illinois University, in Political Science and History, and History and Educational Administration, respectively. He is a National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) Certified Master Teacher, and well over 600 of his students have taken the national exam. Bill is active within the College Board community; Bill has been an AP U.S. History Examination Reader for the past thirteen years, and a Table Leader at the Exam Reading for six years. As a National Consultant to the College Board, he has served or currently serves as the faculty consultant / presenter for over 15 one day training sessions in the Midwest Region. He has also run numerous AP US History Summer Institutes training teachers in AP US History at institutes throughout the midwest.
